The Hermes Standard Initiative at SMTconnect in Nuremberg

Out of the meanwhile almost sixty companies supporting The Hermes Standard IPC-HERMES-9852, 38 were present at “SMTconnect” in Nuremberg, Germany, taking place from May 7 to 9, 2019, with the halls 4, 4A and 5 being the hot-spot of SMT assembly. (As in the previous years, SMTconnect has been combined with pcim Europe)

And one more time, it has been an impressive demonstration of the fast, industrywide acceptance of The Hermes Standard. Most vendors proudly put up the green logo on their machines (basically only those exhibiting at distributor booths where there is usually no labeling wanted did not.)

As the show is a very regional “European” event, and particularly because there will be productronica just a few months later, some of the Asian members decided to delay their travel plans and wait to exhibit only in Munich in November.

Customers are more and more asking for solutions based on IPC-HERMES-9852. First multi-vendors projects are already in the field and many more are planned. What an impressive track of successful deployment after just two years since the initial meeting of The Hermes Standard Initiative.

In fact, it is a convincing evidence that the decision to go for an Open Standard was the very right one: Still, all vendors of assembly equipment for the electronics industry are invited to join!
